PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS AND GENERAL INFORMATION

  • For students with a minimum of four semesters of college French or the equivalent. Students with three semesters are encouraged to contact API.
  • Open to freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors
  • Completed API application
  • One letter of recommendation
  • One official transcript
  • Minimum 2.75 G.P.A.
  • Classes taught in French
  • Housing: local host families and dorms
  • Entry requirements: valid passport with student visa
 

TOTAL CONTACT HOURS AND SEMESTER CREDITS AVAILABLE PER TERM

  • SEMESTER -  255-300 contact hours; 17-20.5 semester credits

ACADEMIC PROGRAM

 

Students in the Tourism Studies Program take a combination of French language and elective courses in areas such as business, tourism and culture. In addition to the coursework, students have the opportunity to visit French restaurants and hotels in the area, as well as to meet with professionals in the industry. Students who successfully complete the program and pass the required exam earn a French Certificate of Tourism and Hotel Business. Semester credits for each course are listed in parentheses below. All courses are taught in French.
 

TRANSCRIPTS

API students will receive their transcript from the Centre Universitaire d’Études Françaises (CUEF) at Université Stendhal – Grenoble III.
