PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS AND GENERAL INFORMATION

• Minimum 2.75 G.P.A. 
• Open to beginning, intermediate, advanced and superior level French speakers  
• Open to freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors
• Completed API application
• One letter of recommendation
• One official transcript
• Classes taught in French
• Housing: local host families, dorms and studettes
• Meals: host families and/or CROUS meal stipend card
• Entry requirements: valid passport with student visa

All summer students in Paris will also have two cultural activities per week through API.

ACADEMIC PROGRAM

This is an intensive language program for students with no previous study of the French language. Students meet for classes five to six hours per day, five days a week. The average class size is twenty students. A student’s French level is determined by a placement exam administered upon arrival by the Sorbonne.

TRANSCRIPTS

Transcripts are issued by the Cours de Civilisation Française de la Sorbonne. If a student’s home university requires a U.S. school of record, they can receive a transcript from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
